Therapist. Parent & Chronic Illness Warrior.

“I understand what it means to keep going when your body says stop.”

Welcome! I’m Bridget Longnecker, LMHC, LPC, Qualified Supervisor, and a virtual therapist licensed serving Florida and Oregon.

I specialize in supporting adults living with chronic illness and autoimmune conditions—including the working professional, parents who are doing the impossible: caring for others while managing their own invisible pain, couples, and caregivers.

I combine professional expertise with lived experience. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2020, just months after having my daughter. I know what it feels like to be exhausted, scared, and responsible for a tiny human while your world feels like it’s crumbling.

You don’t need to explain everything here. I get it.

My Approach to Therapy

Many of the clients I work with are individuals who are used to holding a great deal of responsibility…professionals, caregivers, and parents who continue showing up for their lives even while navigating significant challenges. My approach to therapy is grounded in creating a space where you do not have to carry everything alone.

I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical. Together we explore the emotional impact of life’s challenges while also developing strategies that help you move forward with greater clarity, balance, and self-compassion.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the larger context of their experiences including the pressures of work, family responsibilities, and the realities of managing ongoing health concerns.

Therapy is a space where you can slow down, process what you have been carrying, and reconnect with your own resilience.

I use evidence-based tools like:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Mindfulness & somatic strategies

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Begin Therapy

If you are looking for therapy support while navigating chronic illness, anxiety, or life transitions, you are welcome to schedule a consultation to see if working together feels like the right fit.

Living with chronic illness or autoimmune conditions often requires navigating challenges that others may not fully see or understand. Many individuals continue to manage careers, parenting, relationships, and daily responsibilities while quietly coping with fatigue, medical uncertainty, and the emotional impact of ongoing health conditions.

I specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating the complex intersection of physical health and emotional wellbeing. This includes working with clients who are adjusting to new diagnoses, managing long-term medical conditions, or experiencing the emotional toll that chronic illness can place on identity, relationships, and daily life.

Therapy can provide a space to process these experiences openly while developing strategies for managing stress, navigating uncertainty, and building a more sustainable relationship with both your health and your life.

My goal is to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they navigate the realities of living with chronic illness.
