Therapist. Parent. Chronic Illness Warrior.
“I understand what it means to keep going when your body says stop.”
Hey there! I’m Bridget Longncker, LMHC, a virtual therapist licensed in Florida. I specialize in supporting adults living with chronic illness and autoimmune conditions—including parents who are doing the impossible: caring for others while managing their own invisible pain.
I combine professional expertise with lived experience. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2020, just months after having my daughter. I know what it feels like to be exhausted, scared, and responsible for a tiny human while your world feels like it’s crumbling.
You don’t need to explain everything here. I get it.
What I Help With
Chronic illness and autoimmune conditions
Anxiety, grief, and burnout
Parenting while living with chronic illness
Medical trauma and emotional fatigue
Life transitions and identity loss
Guilt, boundaries, and invisible struggles
You don’t have to “power through” everything alone. I provide a safe space to process what’s heavy and reconnect with the person you know is still inside
Therapy for Living with Chronic Illness
Living with chronic illness is exhausting—physically, mentally, and emotionally. The world doesn’t always slow down when your body needs it to. Relationships shift. Careers get put on pause. Identity and confidence can quietly erode.
Whether you're newly diagnosed or years into managing symptoms, I help individuals process the emotional toll of illness and find their way back to themselves.
For many of my clients, this also includes navigating parenthood while chronically ill—an often invisible juggling act that can come with guilt, grief, and deep overwhelm.
You might be wondering:
“Am I doing enough?”
“How do I rest when my kids need me? When my partner needs me?”
“Who am I now?”
Together, we work to quiet that inner noise, release unrealistic expectations, and build a version of life and parenthood that is sustainable and self-compassionate.
My Approach
My core style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real-life experience. I meet you where you are—mentally, emotionally, and physically—and we move at your pace.
I use evidence-based tools like:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness & somatic strategies
You don’t need to explain or justify your pain here. I get it. And I’m here to support you in creating a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and aligned with your truth.
Healing Happens Best When You’re Comfortable
Let’s be real — chronic illness comes with enough obstacles.
You shouldn’t have to fight traffic, sit in a waiting room, or push through a flare-up just to get support.
That’s why virtual therapy isn’t a backup plan — it’s a better plan.
✨ More flexibility. Less stress.
✨ Therapy that meets you in your pajamas, your bed, or your bad days.
✨ Same licensed support — more energy left for you.
As a therapist and someone living with MS, I understand what it takes to show up — and how valuable it is to have care that meets you where you are, literally and emotionally.
Your healing journey should feel like relief, not one more thing on your to-do list.
Let’s make therapy fit your life — not the other way around.
When it comes to therapy — especially for complex, ongoing challenges like chronic illness — insurance doesn’t always get it.
Self-pay gives you the freedom to get the support you truly need, without the red tape.
Here’s why clients love the self-pay model:
More privacy. No diagnoses shared with insurance companies.
More flexibility. We choose your goals and treatment plan — not the insurance algorithm.
More consistency. No session limits, no forced labels, no surprise denials.
More YOU-centered care. Chronic illness is personal. Your therapy should be too.
Session Rates
Initial Intake Session (60 mins): $200
Ongoing Sessions (50 mins): $150
You’re not just paying for a session — you’re investing in sustainable support, with a therapist who truly understands the chronic illness journey from both sides of the screen.
